Double Hulled Tanker

Double hulled ships are ships that have two hulls instead of one . These are good because if the boat crashes there will still be a hull left to prevent leaks. Some people do not like this because it is expensive but this is good for the environment. If the Exxon Valdez had a double hulled boat there would never have been an oil spill would there? That tiny little addition would have saved a lot of animals that are now dead.

Gulf Of Mexico Spill

In the Gulf Of Mexico there was an oil spill. Many animals were killed by this and are still dying. The oil spill has been leaking for about a month now and is still leaking. There have been 147,000,000,000 gallons of oil spilled into the ocean. It has covered 1,800 square miles and is spreading. If this continued we would have so much pollution wed be in trouble. We must do what we can to stop this oil spill.

Seagulls

Seagulls depend on the ocean to live as well. They dive into the ocean to get fish and food. If the ocean is with oil and they dive into it they get covered in oil. They attempt to take it off by eating it off. Then this oil gets into there body and get sick or die. People should start getting jobs of saving animals so that there is less dead animals on a oil spill.

Sea Otters

Sea otters are affected by oil spills because they
depend on water to live. They control there body
temperature with water. If its too sunny They go
in water to cool themselves if it is too cold they
get warm in the water. Many sea otters are killed by oil spills but some are rescued. We must save the sea otters or they will be extinct.

Oil spills

Oil spills are when a tanker or when a boat crashes into something. There is an oil spill about every day but this does not mean that a boat crashes every day it can also be when it is natural or when a well explodes. Did you know that 48% of the oil spilled into the ocean is natural? And only 17% is when a boat crashes. Many animals are endangered because of oil spills. You would not like to be covered by this sticky stuff would you? One of the biggest oil spills was the Ixtoc 1.
